homestretchOpen to the Public

This Event DOES count as extra credit for my HDFS 2367 (Reflection Assignment)

Time: Thursday, March 12, 2015 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM

Location: Alonso Family Room in the Student Life Multicultural Center

The Student Life Multicultural Center sponsors Community Cinema in collaboration with PBS and Independent Lens.  Community Cinema features screenings of documentaries open to all students, staff, faculty and community members. Community Cinema focuses on bringing together organizations, students and community members to learn, dialogue and get involved in key social issues of our time.

Join us as we watch and discuss The Homestretch. Three homeless teens brave Chicago winters, high school pressures, and life alone on the streets to build a brighter future. Against all odds, they recover from the trauma of abandonment to create new, surprising definitions of home.

This event also counts toward your D.I.C.E. Ally Certificate (SJE OR H&A) so be sure bring your D.I.C.E. card or request one if you don’t already have one.
