Speakers: BONDAGE with BondageNexus and linworth (March 22, 2016)

White Gauze 1984 - Robert Mapplethorpe
“White Gauze” by Robert Mapplethorpe (1984)

BondageNexus and linworth will visit my HDFS 5440 classroom on The Ohio State University Main Campus (Townshend Hall, Room 247) Today (March 22nd) from from 11:10 am  to 12:30 pm. to discuss Bondage and stereotypes surrounding it.

After a brief introduction, Bondage Nexus and Linworth will demonstrate some basic ties and discuss suspension. No sex acts will take place during this class, of course, but students do have the option of sitting out the class if they believe it will be triggering. There will be an informative Question&Answer period for students throughout and following the demonstration.

If you wish to bring a friend, make certain to tell them that chairs are not part of the bargain. There are just enough chairs for students enrolled in the class. All others should be prepared to grab a comfortable (?) spot on the floor.

Bondage Nexus

BondageNexus has enjoyed incorporating rope bondage into his sex life since puberty. In the last ten years he has done bondage in the public kink scene mostly as an outreach to folks who are new to kink in hopes that they can be more comfortable in their love of bondage. If you’ve been to Trauma here in Columbus, you may have already caught one of his performances.

Information about CORG (The Central Ohio Rope Group) is available online.

Examples of a past performance at TRAUMA can be found online as well.

linworth

linworth has been actively exploring the kink world since 2007, and while having all sorts of “deviant” proclivities, has mainly settled into her two favorites of power exchange and rope bondage. While generally the shy, submissive type, she has a passion for education and discussion surrounding consent culture, rope bottoming, and the safe practice of all things kinky.

This panel is offered to students along with academic readings on the topic (provided by their professor on Carmen) and classroom discussion.  Special attention will be given to an excerpt from Steve Lenius’ Life, Leather, and the Pursuit of Happiness (Chapter 39, Bondage: the difference between black and gray)

Pink’s “Try” has been chosen for this class meeting’s music:
