HDFS 2400: Lifespan Development
(Previously HDFS 364)
- This class has several midterms and a final examination
- Short assignments will occur during the semester and will help you prepare your final project
- This class includes a group project (individual project can be substituted if absolutely necessary)
- Attendance is critical to your success in this course
- Extra credit is available
HDFS 2367: Balancing Work and Family
(Previously HDFS 367)
- This is a Level-2 writing course
- There are online quizzes in this class
- This class has no midterm or final
- You will write as an individual and as a group
- Attendance is critical to your success in this course
- Extra credit is available

HDFS 5440: Human Sexuality in Context
(Previously HDFS 370)
- This is a Level-3 writing course
- The content of this class is sexual in nature (gasp!) and maturity is expected along with a healthy dose of open-mindedness (we can work on the open-minded part together)
- Class discussions are an integral part of the course design
- We are joined by many speakers during the semester
- There are online quizzes in this class but no midterms or final
- You will complete several writing assignments during the semester – they are all building blocks for your final project/paper
- You will conduct research as part of a group assignment and produce an individual paper based on the findings of your group
- Attendance is mandatory. It comprises half of the points for this class. There is absolutely no way to succeed in this class without good attendance and the only students who have ever failed it are students who didn’t attend class.
- Extra credit is available

HDFS 3193: Practicum in Human Development and Family Science Research
(Individual Study)
- This course is “by permission only” and involves independent research
- Self-motivation is critical to success in this course (which is generally a one-credit course).
